Self Paced Students: Final Project
Final Project: Gratitude & Intentional Release
Note: The following instructions apply to students completing the Meditation Teacher Training in the self-paced format. If you are taking this training in the live online format, this material will be presented live in class, and there is no need to complete or post this project below.
This project continues to build your capacity to introduce subtle practices clearly and guide students with confidence. In this module, the focus is on gratitude practices and intentional release.
For this project, you will choose one of these themes to work with. You may introduce either a gratitude practice or an intentional release practice, depending on what resonates most for you.
As with previous projects, imagine you are speaking to students who are new to these ideas.
Project Overview
You will complete:
– A 500-word written introduction
– A recorded teaching and guided practice
– A single post that includes both your essay and video link
– A direct email to your instructors
Step 1: Write a 500-Word Essay
Review the material from this module on gratitude and intentional release. Choose one of these practices to focus on for your project.
Write a 500-word essay that:
– Introduces the practice you’ve chosen
– Explains its purpose and how it supports inner balance and awareness
– Is accessible to students who may be new to this type of meditation
As before, 500 words corresponds to approximately five minutes of spoken teaching.
Post your completed essay in the comments section below. This essay will serve as the foundation for your video presentation.
Step 2: Record Your Teaching and Guided Practice
Using your essay as your guide, record a single continuous video.
Begin with a five-minute spoken introduction, where you:
– Set the theme of gratitude or intentional release
– Help orient your students to the practice you’re about to guide
Then, without stopping the recording, transition directly into guiding the practice itself for approximately five to ten minutes.
Your final video should be approximately 10–15 minutes total and include:
– A short teaching
– A guided gratitude or intentional release practice
Step 3: Upload and Share
Upload your video to YouTube and copy the URL.
In the same comment where you post your essay, include:
– Your 500-word essay
– The YouTube link to your video
You can refer back to earlier modules for step-by-step instructions on uploading to YouTube and using Marco Polo.
Step 4: Email Your Instructors
In addition to posting your work here, please directly email your instructors the same information.
Your email should include:
– Your 500-word essay
– The YouTube URL for your video
Send this email to both:
– konalaniyoga@gmail.com
– jatila@eldoradoyoga.org
Your instructors will review your submission and provide personalized feedback via Marco Polo.
